Youth agri champions call for applications
Agri Champions Workshop Series 2024 targets young smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and youth working in the agricultural sector.
The initiative brings together ~15 youth grassroot voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia, to share their experience with adapting their practices to climate change.
Youth Agri Champions workshop
During the workshops you will develop a youth demand paper to be elevated in high-level political fora by BKMC co-chair and 8th Secretary-General of the UN Ban Ki-moon. The thematic focus of the 2024 Demand Paper will be “locally-led adaptation for smallholder farming”.
In the past years, Youth AgriChampions joined the BKMC delegation at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh and COP28 in Dubai to launch the Youth AgriChampions Demand Paper .
Youth Agri Champions
The Youth AgriChampions Workshop Series 2024 targets young smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and youth working in the agricultural sector, aged between 18 to 35 from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia.
Eligibility:
- Smallholder farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and youth employed in the agricultural sector who want to share experiences, advocate for smallholder farmers
- Age 18-35;
- Countries: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia;
- Working/worked on a climate adaptation project or have expertise in the topic;
- Keen interest in agriculture, climate change, and food systems.
