Block Managers – Tomatoes and Onions Vacancy
Twiga Foods is looking for suitable candidates to fill the position of a Block Manager – Tomatoes and Onions. The role holder will be accountable the production of a crop in specific block in a pivot. A pivot is divided into 4 blocks. A Block Manager is assigned a single or multiple blocks under a pivot.
Key Responsibilities
Production of year round, high quality fresh Tomatoes/ onions in line with Twiga Foods Limited product demand planning Training and development of the Tomato team for
From land preparation and planting, through the crop production process to harvest up to packhouse level. Implementation of the advice given from the Agronomy team for irrigation/nutrition/crop protection.
A key focus on harvest team management and personnel management of up to 250 harvesters for tomatoes and additional support staff daily. Onion harvesting is mechanised as per the attached video.
Yearly and seasonal crop production planning, in line with Twiga Foods demand planning and quality specifications with a current planting program of 6 ha of Tomatoes every week. All grown under centre pivot irrigation
continual professional improvement Retaining good staff working relations and a high standard of Health and Safety.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience

Minimum Qualifications And Experience
A bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited university in Agriculture/horticulture or associated disciplines. BASIS & FACTS qualifications an advantage. A valid Kenya driving licence.
A minimum of 7 years direct accountability for production of crops on an acreage of 25 – 50ha, within the fresh produce industry with relevant experience in Kenya.
