Responsibilities
The TVET Specialist will focus on roll out of Cooperative/Dual training in selected TVET institutions in Coast Region and work under the direct supervision of the Component Lead for Output 2 & 3. You will be responsible for:
Designing and coordinating Cooperative/Dual competence based and modularized training in selected TVET institutions.
• Development and organization of TVET teachers training.
• Coordinating cooperative/dual training implementation in industry and TVET schools, strengthen the capacity of selected TVET institutions for implementation of Cooperative/Dual TVET training.

The Technical expert will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Support the improvement of institutional capacity of selected TVET institutions for the implementation of cooperative/ dual training in the selected technical occupations.
Support and carry out organizational development and capacity development activities in the selected. TVET institutions.
• Support development and organization of cooperative training in TVET Institutions and companies
• Support the development and implementation of CBET curriculum in the selected TVET schools. Support the development and adaptation of teaching, learning and assessment materials for the cooperative training courses.
• Ensure alignment of new training and employment promotion measures to existing structures and systems Support development and organization of in- company trainer training.
- Support the selected TVET schools to develop mechanisms of increasing women and PWDs in the
cooperative/dual training. Quality assurance of cooperative training
- Preparation and management of consultancy assignments by internal and external experts and consultancies in the field of responsibility Support documentation and dissemination of good practices
• Close cooperation with the International and National Experts of the programme
• Participate and represent GIZ in relevant meetings directly related to the programme

Required qualifications, competences and experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in the area related to education, skills development, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
Professional experience
• 3-5 years’ professional experience with TVET implementation programmes or Skills Development programmes
Experience working on TVET institutional
development and TVET teachers training. Experience on implementation of Competence Based Education and Training (CBET)
Other knowledge, additional competences
Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies
(related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
• Good communication Skills Consulting and advisory skills
Experience in M & E
• Perfect English (oral and written) Assignment period: 01 May 2023 31 December 2026
