Incorporating a gender-inclusive approach for business growth not only provides a significant business potential for climate-smart agricultural enterprises, but also positively impacts women engaged in the sector. This is especially important since women are often disproportionately affected by climate change. Evidence suggests that mainstreaming gender considerations in business leads to better profitability and higher returns, more innovation, better decision-making, improved customer responsiveness and retention, and also attracts gender lens capital.
Countries
Intellecap Advisory Services with support from International Development Research Centre (IDRC) will support 10 innovative climate-smart enterprises in East Africa (Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) operating at the nexus of sustainable agriculture/food systems and climate change sectors.
